Greek culture has influenced the Western world in many different areas such as sciences, arts, politics, as well as hospitality and food and beverage consumer habits. More and more reports noted that Greek food and drink exports to China rose significantly last two years.

During the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2019, next month, Greece’s Prime Minister will attend China coinciding with the CIIE, where Greece will be the honored country. Data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) indicate, also pointing to a 42.7 percent increase in exports to China.

This promising event is a highlight of the general constant growing commercial ties between Greece and China. The Greek national participation to the CIIE, to be held 5-10 November in Shanghai, was organized by Enterprise Greece under the slogan: A culture to share.

The national pavilion will feature a virtual reality tour of Santorini, allowing visitors to experience a walk through the island’s alleys and see the famed sunset of Oia.

Present at the pavilion will be 26 Greek food and beverage exporters, who will showcase their products and where a gastronomy bar will allow visitors to sample Greek fine foods such as Kalamata olives, Greek olive oil, Greek honey and the finest cheeses from Greece among other items.

We, as Greeks and as a team of a food export company, are more than happy and impatient to see the results of this huge invest and trade show in China!
